One day a university professor, an author, and a communications pro met over an online conference call to chat about ways to help people focus on what matters most to them.
We started with a book project and a group of University students who gave input, ideas, and feedback on a workshop that would help people outsmart their smartphones. That workshop gave us another idea.
We didn’t just want to help people take control of their phone usage, although that’s a great start. We wanted to provide a setting where folks could process and practice the research-proven techniques you find in scientific literature. In other words, a learning experience leading to life change.
That's where The Deeper Living Project comes in. Our workshops cover topics that include better smartphone use, the benefits of daily gratitude, and spiritual practices to help you thrive in a tech-saturated world.

Brad Wright is an associate professor of sociology at the University of Connecticut where he studies American Christianity, spirituality, and well-being. He received his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin, where he specialized in social psychology and criminology.
He has authored 20+ scholarly articles and two books: "Christians are Hate-Filled Hypocrites… and Other Lies You’ve Been Told" and "Upside: Surprising Good News about the State of Our World". He lives in Storrs, Connecticut with his wife and a very small dog, and has two grown sons. He enjoys cycling, hiking, and nature photography.
Marc is a communication professional who speaks on the topics of personal growth and calling, which are subjects addressed in his co-authored book The 2:10 Project: Discover Your Place in God’s Story.

His writing aims to remove the barriers to spiritual practices and to provide gentle guidance for creating space for spiritual practices as well as how to do them.
